Plus Minds is registered under the Registration of Business Names Act in Ghana as an Educational Consultancy (Reg. No BN158711124). It was founded on years of experience, commitment and determination. Our founder started his primary education in a remote farming village in the Nkwanta South District of the Oti Region of Ghana. Tertiary Education was the greatest challenge for every student and family from the village, but he defied all odds to become a Lecturer. Plus, Minds was born out of the desire to help find the best talents from deprived communities in Africa and help them find and enrol at Top universities in the world.
At Plus Minds, we connect with educational institutions and communities to identify and mentor brilliant but needy students to attain the best grades in school. We then support those who want to study abroad to find the universities that meet their needs and help them apply to these universities. We also have a good track record of helping our scholars find the best scholarship opportunities in their home countries or abroad to pursue their studies. We also offer other range of services such as seminars and guest lectures, supply of educational materials, content creation for educational institutions and general research services.
During our founder’s studies at the University of Reading, he started a campaign to collect used textbooks from staff and students at the Henley Business School which was donated to his former university in Ghana. It is now registered in Ghana as a charity called Hamerkop Ghana Foundation. We collect books and other educational resources for educational institutions in Africa who need them most.
Meet Our Founder
Oliver Tannor is a dedicated doctoral researcher at Henley Business School, University of Reading, specializing in sustainable real estate. He holds a BSc in Real Estate from the University for Development Studies (Ghana), an MPhil in Development Management from the same institution, and an MSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading. Currently, Oliver is pursuing a PhD at the University of Reading. He has been a winner of multiple scholarship awards. Apart from his first degree, all of Oliver’s post-graduate studies, including his current PhD, were fully funded under various competitive scholarship schemes.
Oliver's academic journey reflects a consistent pursuit of excellence, earning accolades such as the Surveyor Samuel Ofori-Offei award for academic excellence for best-graduating student in the Department of Real Estate at the University for Development Studies (2014) and the Henley Business School PhD studentship. He was also part of the scholars of the Young Impact Associate program funded by the MasterCard foundation (2022-2023), which trained 13 young Ghanaians in project monitoring and evaluation.
With many years of teaching and research experience, Oliver has contributed significantly to academia and practice. He taught at the SDD University of Business in Ghana and the University for Development Studies (Ghana). He currently visits and teaches at Kingston Business School, London, as an hourly paid lecturer in Real Estate. His professional portfolio includes developing academic programs, supervising undergraduate projects in Ghana, and engaging in impactful research projects like the UK Prevention Research Partnership-funded TRUUD initiative.
Oliver's commitment to education and research is further evidenced by his numerous publications and community initiatives, such as the "Donate a Book Campaign" to support resource-strapped university libraries in Ghana.
